Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

Last night was another strong showing from GG Lambeth. The task in hand was the making the monthly trip down to Vauxhall food bank where the lovely Faith was waiting for us with numerous tinned goods for us to weight.

After a solid 2 mile run down to the bank we were split into two groups, one group was put through their paces with some drills from Rebecca including the much loved prison squats and lunges, the other got down to weighing all the goods recently collected from Sainsbury’s. The weighing group was as you would expect from a GoodGym Lambeth; efficient, robust and straight down to business and although there was some confusion over the sorting of milk and fruit juice due to being in very similar cartons this did not prevent us from finishing in lighting quick time.

Overall we weighed and packed away around 400 kg of Sainsbury’s finest (including rare appearance of some alpine) in a solid time.

The run back to HQ was split into different groups with the Alex taking the leading group and doing his best Freddy Mercury impression to keep the pace up. Everyone made it safe and sound I don’t think I’ve forgotten to report anything else, have I Rebecca?? (apart from the fact I left Becca and Pritesh at the Food Bank... solid parenting)

Overall another cracking Tuesday night with another great mixture of new and old GoodGym member. Roll on next Tuesday.

Oh also another mention about Race the Train. If you like the sound of running in the Welsh Countryside this could be for you, it a run held in August and is 14 miles long, however there is also a 10km and a 5km one as well and involves racing a steam train. If this sounds to you like a winner then please sign up, a number of GoodGym members are heading to the valleys and have sorted out a rather large accommodation which should overall make it a cracking day and evening. Click on the link below for more details, all abilities are more than welcome all you have to do is make sure you pack your enthusiasm and it will be a cracker.
