We had a nice 5 km round trip to help Ms G on a beautiful warm and sunny afternoon, running from Vivo to Easton along the Frome Valley Walkway. Handy that Anna and Louise had been to visit Ms G before on a previous mission and so knew the way.
We were greeted by Ms G and her lovely miniature Yorkshire Terrier, Titi, both of whom made us very welcome. Our mission today was to paint the hallway and Ms G's friend had already been round to wash the door frame and some of the wall, so whilst Anna and Louise mixed some sugar soap and finished cleaning the wall, I started on painting the door frame - big thanks to Louise for spotting the tin of undercoat that I should have been using before I had got too far into the job in hand!
With the wall washed, Anna and Louise then set about applying coats of lavender paint, using rollers and large paint brushes, doing a highly professional job and managing to not get any paint splatter on themselves or the hall carpet.
In the time available to us we managed to get one wall and the door frame fully painted, the paint brushes and tray washed, all the while chatting to Ms G about all sorts of things, including her love of sci-fi films and Jackie Stallone's facelifts!
In taking the cleaned equipment out front to dry, it was great to see the fantastic job that Anna and Louise had made of tidying up Ms G's front garden on their last visit, resplendent in the lovely autumn afternoon sunshine.
There is still some painting to do, which Ms G's friend may have time to do - if not it would be great to go back and finish the job off.
Thanks to Anna and Louise for being great company, to Louise for her handy painting tips and to Anna for taking some "before" and "after" photos too.
