Jonathan and I were met by Catherine the Vicars wife and her two children who explained our task which was to tidy the beds around the side of the church. The beds had lavender planted there already but needed weeding, edging, and some new lavender planted in the gaps between. It was a lovely warm evening, and we worked hard for an hour to finish the whole area along the side of the church. Catherine, her children and two other volunteers from the church were also busy on the other beds, and they were all interested in the work of Goodgym and the tasks which we are able to do. There are a lot more areas Catherine wants to develop around the church grounds so we will no doubt be back there again soon. Hopefully on a group run when they return.
