Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Well after all that rain yesterday I guess our 18 Goodgym runners were lucky not to swimming the 7k out to tonight's task at aptly named WATERY LANE for Action on Hearing Loss.
The very talented Pascale took the lead on tonight's run with her interpreter skills for the deaf. We are possibly the only Goodgym who can accommodate deaf runners and with extra help from Anne and Lucy we really do have inclusion covered on this one.
A very warm welcome tonight to Steve, Meera and the return of our fabulous two super girls Emma and Lydia who left us to play boules, I mean what ever next.
A good warm up to get us on the right track for a flat but long run out to Twerton and not forgetting that all important headcount before the starters pistol. Wellies may have been more appropriate this evening but we are made of tough stuff at Goodgym Bath so literally took it in our stride with a few puddle jumps along the way with a good mix of strengthening exercises on route. from step ups to press ups.
Evan who is the volunteer gardener at Action on Hearing Loss was eagerly awaiting us and with the help of Pascale was able to communicate his gratitude to the the group and give us our instructions for tonight's task in these lovely gardens.
He soon had use raking and sweeping the driveway and footpaths of leaves and manoeuvring them down the woodland Path tithe composting bins. They say time flies when your having fun and that was certainly the case tonight and it was soon time to leg it back to the leisure centre for a well deserved stretch and a lap of honour for Meera who did a fantastic job of smashing the 7k run... well done !!
Thanks for letting me(Steph) back mark tonight as for once I didn't need eyes in the back of my head. Thank you Steve for tonight's pun. He can definitely come back.
Remember to bring your ID along if you wish to be paired up or do missions.
