Small but mighty
On a relatively quiet week for us ( all for good reasons! )the 4 of us met up to give a helping hand to Andy, caretaker at Kamelia Kids children's centre. This is a regular task for us. It always feels like meeting up with an old friend , and this evening was no different.
Paul, Anne who had already run from home and myself had a brief run round to the centre where we met Rosalind who had gone directly to the task on her trusty bike!
Tonight Andy had a physically challenging job for us in the shape of shovelling and shifting a lot of small stones/ gravel from outside the entrance to the centre around the corner to the back yard. The reason for this is that the children like to 'play' with the stones which generally results in them being 're homed' around the courtyard !
This was tough work tonight ! The most challenging bit was carrying the urns ( when the wheelbarrow was in use) and lifting and tipping the container into a large builders bag in the courtyard. We realised very quickly not to over fill the blue urns ! The nice bit was that it felt very social as we managed to have a really good chat with each other and catch up on all the news.
I hour later we managed to empty both the beds ( that gravel ran DEEP! ) With a promise to return next month we said our goodbyes and we all headed back the way we had arrived.
See you all next week at The Bug Cycle garden
