After an amazing and refleshing one hour walk from the Isle of Dogs, I finally arrived at my destination and was greeted by the lovely Friends of the Woolwich Common. After a brief introduction, I was given a Litter Picker and a plastic bag, the tools of the trade. After putting my gloves on, I was paired up with one of the members and ready for the mission, ready for action! I must say, I was pumped and happy to help this great organization on their mission to clean up the Woolwich Common. We ventured down a path through some thick vegetation and got to work. A plastic bottle here, a glass bottle there. This litter picking became addictive! I was seeing junk everywhere! There was plenty of work to do and at the end we landed up filling 5 bags of litter! 5 bags just the two of us! I felt proud of the work we did! Sunday morning well spent! Thank you Friends of the Woolwich Common for your support and great initiative!
