For several weeks, Ms L had been using a torch to light her way to bed, as she was unable to change her light bulbs...this was causing her considerable stress and worry.

When I arrived, Ms L showed me a whole array of bulbs that she had bought, as she needed them to be fitted in the kitchen, bathroom, lounge, landing and hallway.

The bathroom, hall and kitchen bulbs were straight forward, the ceilings were relatively low, and access was easy.

The lounge bulbs turned out to have the wrong thread, but as Ms L had bought them to replace bulbs that were still working (she'd had them in for about 5 years, so was expecting them to go at any time) we were happy to leave them for another visit.

The most tricky by far was the bulb above the stairs...Ms L had a set of step ladders that she duly held for me, while I carefully balanced to reach the light fitting.

Job done, we had a lovely chat about GoodGym, family and volunteering. Ms L has had a connection with Age UK for some time, and is hoping to secure a regular volunteer role with them soon.

She was so pleased to have light back in her life and couldn't thank GG enough. Hopefully, she will be able to pick up the right bulbs for her lounge and allay any further stress.
