Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
6 runners, plenty of palettes and even more man and woman power
Last night's run was probably the most picturesque rain run I've been on…just enough rain mixed with fog to create a mist that holds a warm glow from all the stratford city lights. But not too much rain that hits you in the eye and hurts as you look up to admire it all. Perfect balance!!!
Ok so scene set, we left the Aquatics Centre and made our way to Caravanserai, 25 minutes later we had arrived in Canning Town ready to work. This site was a new find to everyone in the group, which made it that bit more exciting as everyone seemed to appreciate it's function within the community and it's down right quirkiness.
Our task for the evening was to shift stacks of palettes that stood nearly as tall as some of us to the other end of the site so they could be used as firewood and seating for the upcoming Light Festival this weekend. We got our 'hard work' gloves on and with the help of Che from Caravanserai we made a start. The wooden towers were quickly diminished and relocated which left the entrance clear and the mint garden back on show.
We regrouped and began our journey back, the group carried out some drills on the first half of the run to prep the legs for some speed, and then once we were back on the Greenway we let rip with some intervals.
Thank you all for your efforts, see you next week
Kirsty
