Ms S is little bit like me in a way that she likes to go to the shop herself to do her groceries. That way she knows what she is getting, checking the expiry dates and knowing which brand she is buying. Unfortunately, Ms S cannot see well, so usually she goes shopping with her befriender who reads out the labels and can see the screen of a self-checkout till.

Ms S's befriender took a break until the end or March, taking away with her the precious supermarket-friendly eyes. That's how GoodGym got involved - as grocery delivery experts!

Because of her visual impairment, Ms S hadn't prepared a list for me. She had a thought about what she needs, peeked into the fridge, then dictated me her order to buy in Acton Lidl.

I had no trouble finding all the items (it used to be my local Lidl!) apart from the ham hock salad which I had never heard about before. I improvised on the salad front instead. The trouble started when I got back to Ms S!

When I opened the shopping bag, I was greeted by the sight of Jackson Pollock art.

The lid on a large tub of coleslaw broke and some of the contents decided to enjoy the freedom and mingle with the most of other grocery items. Luckily, it was a big tub, so there was plenty of coleslaw left for Ms S to enjoy during the week. As you can imagine, I spent the rest of the mission time with water and tissues, making sure that apples doesn't taste like coleslaw.

Ms S appreciated my customer service after all and was very pleased about the her favourite juice and pineapple slices I found in Lidl. After I redeemed myself, she was sure she would reach out to GoodGym again for help with the groceries during her befriender's absence.
