April Snow ... April Snow (sing it in your best Purple Rain voice!)

It snowed! In April! Well done to our die hard team of 4 who braved the freezing cold and snow flurries.

Rubbish puns

As I’m litter’alley rubbish at thinking of litter puns here are my best hospital puns instead!

The last time we visited Wexham (apart from my midnight visit Sunday with child 3! But that’s another story) was back in 2019!

So glad we get a lung

Mike was one of our first task owners and we generally did a Monday group run to Wexham Park Hospital every 6 weeks or so for an external litter pick.

He was always a big supporter of ours so it was sad that in 2020 Wexham Park Hospital did not and could not have any additional people on its premises for obvious reasons.

ICU soon?

So it was a lovely surprise when Mike emailed me in early January asking us to pay them another visit.

My response was

Hip hip hooray! We will be back!

It’s going tibia okay

In the past we would of collected the litter pickers and bin bags from Mike's office. To be safe, Mike and I agreed that we would supply our own kit this time so we could limit the numbers inside his office and cross contamination of kit!

Try not to ovary act

With Sara already working at the hospital it made perfect sense for her to keep hold of the kit in her boot.

That way, we could run/walk up from the Lemon Tree get more miles in for our April challenge!

It’s not like me to ovary act! But I did want us to tread carefully today! So we were allocated a partner each, given santised kit and off we went safe and sound around the hospital grounds.

Felt it in our bones

Somehow Sara wasn’t cold in her short leggings! I on the other hand had 3 layers on, a snood, a wholly hat and gloves! I’m sure it’s spring? Isn’t it?

In our pairs we cracked on picking up 2 bag fulls of rubbish in one hour. We even had a lovely NHS staff member come and thank us!

Great job ladies!
