When it’s raining and grey on a Sunday morning, most people wouldn’t chose a trip over the Croydon flyover to Duppas Hill Park for a few hours outside. But 7 wild litter pickers couldn’t be stopped by the elements. And a good job we weren’t put off, because after a hot Saturday, people used the park as their own personal litter bin - and it was looking a bit worse for wear. Not put off by the mammoth task ahead, we divided and conquered across the four corners of the park to clear up everyone’s mess. Clearly a good night was had by a lot of people the night before, but sadly they couldn’t take their trash home. With soggy feet but happy faces, the team of 7 collected 16 sacks of rubbish in an hour and a half, with a lot more left for another day. Lots of park users were happy to see us and thanked us for our work, which always feels good!! Well done team and thanks again to Tracey for bringing all the gear!

Welcome to Tom and Francis from Earslfield and Crystal Palace, thanks for coming and we look forward to seeing you again too. Thanks also to a local resident George who came to help out too. If there is an area in Croydon near your house that would look brighter after a GG litter pick, let one of the task force know and we can organise it! Thanks
