Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
Due to the bad weather our Danson Water tasked was canceled so it was over to the litter picking duties around Crooklog. After our warm up and introductions we started off picking around the Crooklog sports centre car park in thanks for letting us meet and and use the changing facilities on a weekly basis. We then headed out onto Brampton Road towards the Adult education centre for a total blitz of the car park and the front garden area. Our plan for the evening was to 'Run and Pick'. We continued the length of Brampton Road making our way to the bottom on the left hand side picking everything in our path before making our way back on the right. No piece of litter was safe!!
NO PIECE OF LITTER WAS SAFE
On reaching the railway bridge and the walk way, it would of been very rude not to do a wall sit off. So it was down tools and get sitting up against the wall. To add to the workout i introduced alternate foot raises to an applause of moaning. It was then a 'join the end of the line' repeat till we reached the end of the walk way. You'll be pleasantly surprised how hard it is to start back running after this drill........ Oh the moaning :-)
On finally arriving back at base camp Crooklog we had enough time for a fun game of 'Naughts and Crosses'. Two teams complete by sprinting to a set of hoops and trying to beat the other team to be the first to get a straight line of three. Its a tough sprint session but the fun and laughter always make it seem a lot easier.
Well thats it for another week. Thanks guys for your understanding to the late change in tasks. It was still a blast!! I can't believe the amount of rubbish we collected just from the centre and Brampton Road. Good luck to everyone at Goodgym Bexley who has applied for the London Marathon, fingers crossed we get a few from Bexley Goodgym on the start line. Have an awesome week. Tim
