Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by JULIA GLEESON
Fun in the sun
After having had 1 week off I was champing at the bit to get back to my feel good Monday GoodGym fix and was so delighted to see the team trickling in . Nick , Roxy, Paul and I were reclining on benches enjoying the balmy heat of the feel good vibes of 'The Summer of 2018 ' when we were joined by Sue ,Gill and Ros . With an apology from Belinda and her beloved bike,a promise to be joined by Tamsin at the task and with swimmers and towels safely stored in my car we set off on a leisurely warm up 1 miler to Heene Terrace gardens to be reunited with our trusty park ranger Keith !
Red devils blooming marvellous
On the way to the task we stopped to admire and pose for photos by our GG seafront flowerbed. It may not win any prizes but its s looking stunning an its all our own handiwork!
Absence makes the Keith grow stronger
Oh my word ! I didn't actually think that Keith would ever admit that he had actually missed us ! But tonight was the night that he put his heart on his rake and admitted that he had missed us like a pain in his trowel.
With lots of banter combined with some instructions and plenty of tools allocated we set about a massive tidy up of the scenic Heene Terrace Gardens. It was a vast and challenging task and one which we could have spent all day on but with all the team piling in there were soon heaps of green debris loaded into bags.
With an endearing photo in which Keith took centre stage we said our goodbyes to him with a promise not to leave it so long next time.
Super Sue Seasons Best
We headed off for an extended run back which incorporated some lamp post sprint efforts together with a burpee pyramid challenge and an extended 1 mile effort back to base.
It was at the end of the last km that Sue announced that it was her fastest time recorded since she shattered her knee in a riding accident just under year ago. Massive respect and kudos to Sue who has persevered both mentally and physically to get back to best . We all shared the love of this news.
Not GoodGym but good swim tonight
Somehow we all managed to finish together and enjoyed some water and social diary planning to get a date to celebrate 4 forthcoming Birthdays ( Barbara , Paul, Tamsin and Duncan)
This was followed by an exclusive Worthing GoodGym dip in the sea by Roxy, Tams and Paul. Surely there cant be many GG photos that can boast a jumping pose in the sea! We want the kudos for photo of the week !
The 3 of them came out refreshed and re energised and we said our final goodbyes and a promise to reconvene next week.
Have a great week
Julia :)
