6 runners ran 3km to help at the Ealing Transition Initiative!

It was lovely to be back in Ealing after a mysterious back injury last week! It's been pretty hot the past few days, maybe even too hot to run in but thankfully it had cooled down just enough for us to have a lovely run!

Our group was made up of Mike, Jade, Rosie, her flat mate Alex and Liv who is going to be the new Ealing trainer and will be taking over in a few weeks time! So be kind to her otherwise she might make you do 20 hill sprints in the fitness session next week!

We did a little warm up and then made our way to Walpole Park where we needed to pick up the tools to take to the task. Armed with a wheelbarrow and various bits and pieces, we had a nice leisurely walk through the park and arrived to meet Grant... Lovely chap!

Grant split us into 3, Rosie and I were on watering duty, Alex & Olivia trimmed the hedges and Mike and Jade grabbed some secateurs and began to tackle the seemingly never ending task of snipping brambles!

After half an hour, all the baby trees had been watered, the hedge was looking neat as ever and the brambles were slowly but surely disappearing!

Magic beans!

Trevor arrived a little later on and when the time came for us to leave, he brought us some more magic beans and showed us how to plant them! A plastic cup and a wet bit of paper and it's good to go! Hopefully you will all plant it and see what happens!

We dropped the tools off back at the park and did a final lap around just to make up a bit of distance. We also included some speedy intervals for good measure!

We jogged back to the gym and Liv kindly led the stretching as the sweat just poured out of us all!

Thanks so much for coming everyone! Next week we will be helping out again there doing a similar task so hopefully we will have equally good weather! See you next time!
