As I left Archway at 5.30pm yesterday with hail pinging and bouncing all around, I wasn't sure what conditions the evening would hold. The clouds unleashed once more on on the Regent's Canal (least it deterred the fair weather tribe), but that was its lot, luckily. A gorgeous evening was ahead of us.
We gave Brad some well deserved love for his marathon accomplishment and unbelievable fundraising effort. We discussed canal etiquette, two, three(!) abreast? I don't think so, pal. Kev and Shaz are out on the waterways now, enforcing the single file policy with zeal, bouncing the path hoggers and phone watchers into the drink.
Random Question this week was a tad challenging, "You can only listen to one genre of music for the rest of eternity, what genre do you pick?" Rock seemed to be the most popular, with at least four backing the American inspired genre. Classical for Mel and Hilary, refined notes for those two. 90's pop I didn't see coming, I obviously overlooked All Saints, S Club and M people. And the Venga Boys...
Hackney Adventure Playground at only a short 1.8mile trip, had plenty of physical toil for us to plough into. Log and mulch shifting proving a decent workout for us fourteen power-houses. Could actually see a dent in the pile this week, i reckon those trollies are a bit of a game changer. Top effort guys.
Squeezed in just a short relay to finish, great way to disguise the intensity of a hard sprint under the umbrella of team effort. Obviously it was just friendly, the results don't matter, all about the effort. Can't even remember what team won. Not bothered. Am I bothered though.
Hoping to get a few more of us down next week, same task awaits - let's see if we get through the mound! Sign up here
Having a corking weekend and lob a few easy runs in there - you know you want to.
