With the lights fully charged it was off to a good start this week (other than the rainstorm that passed through shortly before the group run was due to start)! We did a quick warm up and made our way as a group up the hill to Hither Green.

It was already dark by the time we arrived at the task but we positioned our lights and got to work clearing the weeds from the end of the fence and pavement. There was even a little bit of attention from the local neighbours checking out what we were up to!

Once the fence line was clear of weeds, we moved onto the the pathway and cleared as many weeds as we could. Luckily we all had gardening gloves as we were limited to just our hands to get the job done! Great work everyone, the before and after pictures show your hard work!

With all the weeds piled up neatly, there was just time for a group photo which made use of our additional lighting and highlighted the dramatic sky. Oli then took us on a mystery route to Ladywell Fields where we had a quick lucky dip fitness session, everyone kept picking squats out the bag, I have no idea how that happened....I'm sure there was an equal number of each exercise!!

A couple more hill sprints for those that wanted to and we began to make our way back to Glass Mill.

Good luck to everyone running the Petts Wood 10k on Saturday - enjoy the post-race samosas!!

Saint Swithun's Church Garden Clear Out
Clear out overgrown garden to make it safe

Saint Swithun's Church Garden has been unloved however we are hoping to make it an open space for people to come and enjoy. To make it either a community garden or for people to use for as part of hall hire. It's a wonderful space that can be used to serve the community... But it needs to be cleared. If people do have their own gardening tools that would be ideal.
