11 amazing runners created some brilliant pieces of art whilst running this week!
Our challenge this week was to get creative and make some art whilst running this week, either by making some Strava art or by taking photos of your runs. As always you guys totally blew me away!
Rachel made a very impressive fetus as a her Strava art, celebrating the International Day of the Midwife on Tuesday 5th May. Amazing!
Jo made a unicorn on Strava, a pretty good one too!
Sarah went out for her first run in weeks after being poorly (so glad you're feeling better!) and made a lovely Strava bird whilst Wayne attempted a Strava boat but decided it looked more like a sausage dog.
The winner of the Strava art competition goes to Anna who made two pieces of brilliant Strava art! Her first one was a big heart which could be turned into a chicken. She made it running laps in her garden, incredible effort! Her second one was called "Flatten The Curve" and I don't think there is anything we all want more right now!
Big thank you to all of you who also sent in photos of your runs! So many stunning shots!
Finally, a big shout out to Lizzie who made a spoken word poetry film. Such a special art project! Let's finish off with a bit of her poem:
There is no other place
There is no other place but this
Feel the rhythm of your feet
Stomp like stompings screaming
Sprint like you are dancing in the golden glow of sunlight, in a field with your mates
Feast on your life in anyway you can, lighten your burdens
Move and Keep moving.
Liberate your body
Whip through the woods to the tune of the wind now
Listen to your heart beat
Hear it shout
I’ll tell you what freedom is to me –
Its right here.
Next week we have an exciting week coming up! First we have another artistic run challenge on Tuesday 12th. Check out the details and sign up here. We will also be part of Exeter Phoenix's Online Festival of Mental Health Awareness, running a fitness session and doing some talks. Times and more details to follow soon!
