A first shopping trip for May, a fiercely independent, gregarious 79 year old.

Living on her own for the last 14 months, she has been finding it increasingly difficult to manage day to day tasks, and has relied more and more on the kindness of neighbours, and help from volunteers.

Shopping for herself is now impossible. May has limited vision, so cannot easily read packets and labels. She has also suffered burns to her fingers, when using her cooker.

Always looking to find new coping strategies, May has stopped using her gas oven and now lives on frozen meals, cooked in her microwave.

An incredibly resilient lady, but one who, like so many others, cannot do everything on her own...how fortunate, then, that GoodGym is here to lend a helping hand.
