Report written by Bath runner
BRRRR!!! What a chilly night in Bath for our 14 intrepid runners for a pretty flat 5k route out the Oldfield Baptist church and the community led toddler group to clean and sterilise the toys before the start of the new term.
Congratulations to Emma on her 50th Good deed this evening… Whoopee!!
That means she has earned her Black T Shirt and got to wear the black thunder wings during tonight’s group run with Alison leading Bath for distance ran so far this month, she even managed an accidental marathon at the weekend.
We enjoyed a nice warm up with LUCY before setting off whilst chatting about future events and races or generally things everyone would like to do going forward. Tonight’s headcount involved naming your biggest phobia with some interesting ones from the group, including myself and Donald Trump.
Off we go
On a fairly flat run to Oldfield park with JOE leading and MARK back marking for the group, we even enjoyed some running in circles to re group. Mark the minister was there to welcome us and get us going now that Liz has taken on a new role at the church and have to say we missed her cheery face but that is not to say Mark wasn`t equally cheerful and he joined in with the work.
The Task
To clean and sterilise all the toys and play equipment used at the toddler group, so splitting into 3 groups we worked in perfect harmony with two teams in the main hall SPRAYING and wiping away and ALISON and SAM putting the smaller items through the steriliser in the kitchen. We managed to get everything done in 35 minutes after kidding around or toy testing as a few put it. The group photo in honour of the 100th year anniversary for women who fought for equality
Off we go - SNOW JOKE!!
The snow was falling on our way back to the leisure centre with a little stop off at Green park station for a spot of planking with twist and reach and some core work, gotta love a plank on wood.
A reminder we have our social this Thursday at The Boater in Bath with everyone being very welcome to attend at 7:30 for 8pm start and it`s just £1 to take part, so get yourself along and and do Goodgym Bath proud.
We have Mary and Emma attending The Chairman`s community awards, so it could be a night of celebration when they arrive so keep those fingers crossed.
I will be on annual leave for the next two weeks but Lucy and Pascale (two of our run leaders) will be covering for me so make sure you come along and give them your full support guys n dolls.
