On a lovely summer evening, while most of London was busy watching England battling Colombia for the World Cup, Sylvie and I met in Kennington for some bed assembling and furniture moving. The empty room upstairs had to be prepared for the return of Miss M's twin sister, who is currently staying in a nursing home following a stroke. Miss M's sister has now recovered and is ready to return home, just in time to celebrate their joined 72nd birthday this Saturday! First part of the task consisted in moving the bed frame from the ground floor to the empty bedroom upstairs. Miss M was worried that two ladies would not be strong enough to carry the heavy frame upstairs, but with a bit of pivot and a lot of girl power, we managed to get the bed upstairs in no time, leaving the many cross stitch works that adorn Miss M's walls (almost) unscathed. Next, we put our Ikea skills to the test, assembling the uncooperative bed frame. Lastly, we moved a couple of pieces of furniture from the other bedroom. Miss M was very happy with our work and was looking forward to having her sister back home. We wished them all the best and to enjoy their birthday celebrations and to have many more to come!
