Mixed doubles - no rain break
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Saturday, 15th of July 2017
Patrick and I met up to help Mrs G's daughter with a rather unruly garden.
Mrs G's daughter is the sole carer for her mum and she introduced us to her mother who needs 24 hour care. She is currently unable to take her wheelchair bound mum out in the patio of the garden as she was worried about her mum's allergies.
She was very grateful for some goodgym support as she had previously spent £600 on a professional gardening company but due to the 'very fertile soil' the garden now looked exactly like it did before she had it professionally de-weeded.
Patrick and I started to work on the patio first - hoping that the forecast rain would hold off. Clearing the patio was incredibly time consuming but we managed to get it done within the hour. Still no sign of the rain, we then moved on to the main garden which was completely overgrown by weeds and we managed to make a start. However, it was clear from the beginning that Mrs G would require more than one mission and after clearing a small corner of the huge garden we called it a day and advised Mrs G's daughter that she should ask for at least one more mission - but more likely two (she told us that it took the professionals 3 days...).
We said our goodbyes, left the house and ... ran back home in the rain.
