GOODGYM BRENT READY FOR SIT DOWN AS THEY DISCOVER TRACK TRAINING WAS NO PIECE OF CAKE
Bank Holiday Monday meant a change of base camp for this weeks Brent brigade of red-shirts. Thankfully we were taken in by the magnificent Mosaic Youth Centre who were also our task for the week too.
Through the drizzly rain we made out for a quick warm-up and stretch, learning more about Isabelle our newest recruit, who Ellie had met at Gladstone ParkRun the Saturday before.
Upon our return, the wonderful Lukasz was on hand, with the best refreshments we've ever been treated to, a tower of fairy cakes and 4 varieties of drinks!! We felt we had certainly not earned them at this point, so decided to get to work and reap the rewards at the end, we thought that was "FAIRY-NOUGH"
The Fantastic 4 set to work on 2 major tasks - Shifting office furniture and building the new chairs!!! Brawn (Dan & Ellie) and brains (Isabelle and Tess) were both required for the bookcase shuffle, after which we split into our 2 teams for chair construction.
As competitions go, I think the phrase "Having their asses handed to them" is appropriate here!!! Despite finishing one chair in the time it took Isabelle and Tess to complete: one chair, one table and clear ALLLLL the boxes, Dan and Ellie would have won gold medals in talking and team spirit, if only they had been handed out instead!!
After the Fun-iture we headed back out into the night, where Ellie introduced the team to track/sprint training & the art of pacing. Working up a sweat and now feeling like we deserved the treats Lukasz had in store, team Brent headed back for the final finish..... A glass of squash and some well earned cake.
Awesome crew, fantastic task and delicious cake. All in all an Exceedingly Goodgym
Till next time....
DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPIRE
