On a cold winter’s night three of the team from GoodGym Redbridge ran 11km in total and helped Volunteer Centre Redbridge clear out a storeroom.

A run to Ilford from Wanstead House is 5km, so it’s been with a nervous few weeks for Trainer James wondering whether there was time to run to the Volunteer Centre and do the task. It turned out he need not have worried.

Peter, Simon and James ran the 5km in 30 minutes before clearing out a giant store room and then running back. All within 90 minutes and more than 1km of running between the storeroom and the temporary storage area. The team at VCR were super impressed and now have a lot of work to do to sort the mountains of folders, box files and other office paraphernalia before the team return next week to finish the job.

A huge shout out to Peter and Simon for working so hard and getting a mammoth job done in minutes. It would have taken the ladies at VCR weeks to get it all moved so it made a massive difference.

Fancy getting involved. Join the team next week when they return to finish the job. You can sign up for the run here.
