Last night we gathered at the original Secret Garden created by Grounded Community many years ago. A truly magical space where community comes together to create, learn and flourish.

Some of walked, ran and cycled in from all across Bournemouth and surrounding areas, 8 in total of us took time out of our busy lives to give back to the community but also do a little to improve our own wellbeing.

Michael needed some help shifting soil from one location to another. A few weeks back we had cleared some of the area for the new decking to be built. The decking area is to provide a new kitchen learning space for the community to run sessions on food prep and cooking lessons. Well, the soil we cleared that time and filled into bags, became part of the task last night. With a large wheelbarrow filled with what we didn't manage last time, we had our hands full! The job was to get the filled bags into the Grounded Community wagon without breaking our backs...and using as much GoodGym teamwork as possible.

Some of us were filling bags, others were lifting the filled bags into wheelbarrows and sack trolleys and then transporting them to the van and loading them up. When the van was full, a group of us jogged/walked to the other secret garden (which is more secret than the original one!) and got ready to unload the van so it could then go back and be loaded up again for another trip.

We were so lucky to be doing good in glorious sunshine and enjoying each other's company that we got it all done in no time and didn't even realise how much soil we had shifted!

The soil will be going to the wider community eventually, as part of their initiative to educate on composting at home and how to create your own productive garden. They do so many amazing things. Please check out their website to learn a little more: https://groundedcommunity.co.uk/

Next week Daryl has listed a community mission for the 2nd October. A collaboration with Arts by the Sea and Leave only footprints to do a beach litter clean.

Hope you all have an amazing rest of the week!
