On Sunday morning, three of us gathered in Chiswick and set off for White City to do some gardening. While we were sad to miss Jo, the clear and bright conditions meant it was a very pleasant (if slightly chilly) 5k run to our neighbouring borough.

Once we got there and met Mrs Rose, we set to work raking the leaves. Leaf-raking can feel like a somewhat Sisyphean task at this time of year: Mrs Rose told us that she'd had a GoodGym runner clear her lawn the week before, and she expected that she'd need someone the week after as well. Nevertheless, we persisted, and made a substantial difference to the accessibility of her front lawn. Andy donned his own gloves, Will raked, and Remy marshalled the dustpan and brush.

Following that, we all set to work on the back garden, where the lawn needed mowing and some leaves wanted picking up. Despite a cheerfully uncooperative lawnmower and the wetness of the grass, we got the job done quickly and were able to head off barely an hour after starting. Sterling work from all involved. After a spot of breakfast at a greasy spoon near Turnham Green, we all headed our separate ways. Thanks to GoodGym for organising a very enjoyable mission, and to Mrs Rose for putting up with our muddy footprints all through the house!
