8 GG'ers helped the volunteers at the Mayfield Open Space. We were tasked with widening the gravel path which was being encroached with grass and weeds.

We were all pleasantly surprised when we arrived for two reasons:

1) Michal was there to greet us even though he wasn't signed up (he stayed to help out so definitely earned his good deed)! 2) We were all given our own trowels, mats for resting our knees and buckets for the weeds. We were spoilt rotten!

With our tools we quickly got to work and were making very good progress. Some people were having a great time on it:

I feel like I'm creating a Roman Road - Steve

After over an hours graft we made a good start on the path and will definitely be back soon to help out again!

Mayfields Community Trust maintaining path on the Mayfields Public Open Space
Help with weeding edges of pea gravel path beside wildflower meadow and some woodland area.

Mayfields Public Open Space off of Nelsons Lane is an attractive walking area for locals (with and without dogs!). MCT maintains the area for CYC and recently restored the main path to 2 m width, but now need help to maintain this by removing grass etc encroaching from the path edge before it starts to cause mud accumulation. Goodgym help would be very gratefully received. You can find details by looking at the Mayfields Community Trust web page or Facebook page.
