On a wet and windy Saturday, Matt and Clo started off their day right with a parkrun in Cwmbran (first woman Clo!!) ahead of the afternoon's cross country race. The rest of our small but enthusiastic team (Lucy, Freddie & Lisa) met the parkrun heros in Pontypool, where we mostly tried to stay warm until the race start.

Lucy, Clo and Lisa took on the course first in the Senior Womens race, which quickly warmed us up with some brutal hills (and plenty of mud). The race was completed in no time, and we were back in our warm layers, hot tea in our hands, and ready to cheer on the guys.

Once Matt was eventually coaxed out of his toasty dryrobe, the men were off on the slightly longer course for the Senior Mens race. Matt and Freddie both looked strong all the way around, and we were extra impressed by Freddie's mastery of the mud despite not having trail shoes.

Races finished and everyone re-fuelled with Clo's delicious homemade flapjacks, we quickly packed up the tent just before the rain started and made our ways home to well-deserved hot baths.

Well done team, looking forward to the next one!
