Good Morning Goodgymmers! Today Patrick and Mridula (me) went on a mission in Lewisham to help Mrs O tidy up her garden. It's my third mission this weekend, and I was exhausted, but thanks to the ever enthusiastic Patrick, it was a shot of caffeine to the arm. We met in front of Mrs O's garden and were greeted by her daughter, who took us round back.

The mission was pretty standard, weeding around the sides, but what always makes a mission with Patrick fun, was the fact that comes packing...his own secateurs and also bluetooth speakers with his bangin choons. He was well impressed that I was able to call a fork a fork and not refer to it as a spade with scurvy. I am pleased to report he took my not so subtle digs about Avril Lavigne, and picked a soundtrack that reflected the strong, splendid sophisticated beefcake that he is. Lots of ACDC, some 90's dance music, and not a hint of anything resembling Despacito. If you were a Belieber, Patrick, our friendship would be over.

We got to work promptly, and started weeding around the corners of the garden, and then began the most middle aged conversations known to man. Having recently done some financial life administration, I had been dying to tell someone all week, as my current friend circle looked at me strangely and yawned when I started talking about sensible estate planning. I could not think of a better person to tell than Patrick because he too is fiscally awesome, and I thought it would make me cool in his eyes. He did call me responsible which in my head made us best friends. Expect me to invite you to dinner soon Patrick, where we will review my pension statements and discuss whether or not my funds are well diversified. (Just kidding, I know I'm well diversified enough already. We can talk about whether or not annuities are a good idea. FUN!).

We also had a good chat about my rapidly approaching fifty missions (I'M ALMOST THERE VICKIE BURNS). We were talking about lessons learnt, and I was telling him about how much the small tasks we do provide much more than just chore completion. For some people it's the most interaction they've had with with the outside world all week. Missions are a really good introduction to coach runs, they give you an idea of the good you will be doing, only for someone on a regular basis.

In no time we were done and began to clear up. There was a giant pile of mulch at the end of the garden that Partick bravely volunteered to pick up. Ok he didn't volunteer, I told him I would hold the bag open whilst he dumped the mulch into the bag. Thanks Patrick, you are a gent. We then went on our merry ways. Patrick was going to run 11 miles home, but was stopping for good value ice cream (99p, so fiscally responsible Patrick! Chicks dig that!) on the way home from a creepy ice cream van. Let's take bets on whether or not he vomited en route. I will provide the answer in the next run report! Till next time folks!
