Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Samantha
After an early morning alarm, we arrived at Mrs H's house for 8am ready to make room for a hospital bed so her husband could come home.
First task was to move two armchairs into the front garden ready for collection and with some expert pivoting, we squeezed them through two doors and had them neatly in place. Then it was back to move two full bookcases and a cabinet into the bedroom. Books removed, the first went in nicely but we couldn't get the cabinet in without it blocking the bed or the bed blocking access to the cabinet.
After scratching our heads (but not touching our faces), we saw the TV was on a little table and that Mrs H had a set of nesting tables and all three were in use. So we stacked the nesting tables underneath each other to make space, moved the TV off the little table and put Mrs H's things onto that and then made the mini cabinet her TV stand. Everything was now accessible and bed space had been made.
We then spent the rest of the task refilling the bookshelves as Mrs H told us all about her husbands many hobbies (gardening, cycling, walking, DIY etc) and all about their 60 year(!) marriage and life in London for all of it.
Definitely worth the early alarm clock (especially when it means you can treat yourself to a socially distanced coffee on the way home!).
