New year revolution
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Thursday, 10th of January 2019
This morning Ian and I cycled and ran to Catford to help Mrs J, a member of our community. It was our first mission of the new year, and a great one to start with.
We met a member of an occupational therapy team in Lewisham, who showed us what needed doing. There was even a diagram - I love it when they pop up at a task! What needed doing? 2 armchairs, a sofa, and a bureau needed moving so that Mrs J has space to move round her home with some new equipment on her return from hospital. It needed lifting, rotating, and shifting to get the flat more accessible for Mrs J's return.
Within 20 minutes, we'd sorted it all out and helped remove the last main hurdle which had been keeping Mrs J at hospital, and had our workout for the day too.
