Report written by Bournemouth runner
Last night we took on the night shift at St Peter's Church. Marianne and I met up at Boscombe Pier and were running the short 2.5km to church along the prom. Catching up and admiring the colour display left behind by the beautiful Dorest sunset.
We caught up with Sarah who cycled as she didn't have enough time to run, and it was lovely catching up on our way in....and very handy as we were able to put the litter pickers on the back of her bike!
We got our gear out and put gloves and head lamps on and headed for the promised land. And it delivered. We rummaged through leaves and branches to pull out all the drug paraphernalia left behind over the past month.
There's two main areas that we focused on as it all seems to gravitate towards them. We filled two large bin bags and used the force to try and navigate down the graveyard, dodging graves and branches.
We realised we hadn't stopped to take any photos so we used the Church lights to help with lighting and got one in before we called it a night.
Sarah cycled home and Marianne and I made our way back to the gardens via the cliff top. A beautiful evening for a run, chat and good deed.
Next week we're at the care home for a Daryl led quiz!
