On a wet and beautiful rainy day (after what felt like a heatwave from the Sahara desert) two runners made their way to the help of Mrs M who required the duality and strength to move her double bed into a much brighter and cosier location in her home.

With a little game of house seeking and pleasant welcomes, Mrs M introduced us to the cause of hassle. The Bed of all beds.... A double Japanese oak IKEA masterpiece. this would be a task that we would be talking about at the next social...

We, the IKEA master builders, soon got to work with removal of headboard, base unit, supporting brackets and head connecting plates with Mrs M relaying us that the bed had been in her posession for 10 years!! woozer!!

With all pieces (few nuts rolling around in our heads) the bed was lifted and (as we say in the trade) shifted (slid) to its new location.

Then the fun began... assembly should have been the easy bit.... nope. Stephen had thought all screws and bolts were the same but as the saying goes "Everyday is a school day" & with Jacqueline's help found out that furniture screws have both a threaded end and it's receiving bolt that are used to stop further movement. This allowed the head board (which was previously tilted in the wrong direction) to align and job complete.

The last thing to be done was to say our goodbyes, in doing so Mrs M informed us that she had been sleeping on a cot for many months so the idea of actual sleep in a bed gave her such rejoice...

We said our goodbyes & off we went into the borough, knowing we had allowed this lovely caring person finally get the visit from Mr Sandman she well deserved.
