Report written by Euclides Montes
10 goodgymmers channelled their inner beast for a growler of a task to kick off 2022.
Loam, Sweet Loam
After a very last minute sick note from the physio for Gramps, Super Dave roared into action to meet the team at HQ and lead the run towards Tottenham Green.
Gramps hobbled his way to the Green where he met Laura from Friends of Tottenham Green to coordinate the task. The Friends had spent some time earlier in the day on the Green and had cut back some hedges and litterpicked the fallen leaves, and it was now our task to clear them up from the park. The second part of the task was to avoid the Spurs and Chelsea fans on their way to WHL for the second leg of the EFL semis (if you don't want to know the scores, look away now: hahaha, Spurs spursed it up. Classic).
Aaaaaaanyway...
Fresh from their modelling experience for a Goodgym photoshoot last week, "touched up" Nurjehan and John wasted no time and sprung into action by... erm... striking poses and highlighting outrageous demands from their backstage riders.
In the meantime, the rest of us, the great unwashed hoi polloi got on with the job at hand - proud of our 'slept in a skip aesthetic' (tip of the hat to our Sam for that very apt observation about GGH's general appearance).
We finished collecting the leaves from the central walkway of the Green and bagged them, ready for collection. Then, we made our way into the churchyard where we topped up the composting pile and cleared the yard.
We finished the task by feeding the recycling bin the boozy detritus left behind by the horde of Spurs and Chelsea fans.
All in all, a low key affair, with loads of catching up and unmet demand for sweets. Sorry, Alex, next time.
Light gardening work on Tottenham Green or at the Marcus Garvey Library
