Another brilliant Goodgym night last night!!

8 superstars came along to My CWA in Crewe to help with some painting. My CWA is a local charity that supports victims of domestic abuse. They are a brilliant organisation that do amazing work within our community.

We welcomed newcomer Scott, which was lovely and he got stuck in without any hesitation. We hope you had a great night Scott and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Before starting our task, we had our lovely group run. There was no walking group this evening as everyone was up for a run! It felt really good to do a good solid run to the task. We also had some lovely encouragement from some of the locals as we ran!! Karen and Nigel were testing out their new proviz attire and if you look at the photos, I think you’ll agree, that along with Emily who was also sporting a proviz jacket, they certainly weren’t going to go unseen!

Tonight’s task was painting one of the large rooms within the large My CWA building. Claire, Emily, Emma, Karen, Maurice, Nigel, Nicola and Scott all took to their rollers and brushes and got stuck in. We were changing the room from Magnolia to white and it was definitely in need of a freshen up. We met a few spiders tucked in corners along the way but they were safely rehomed!

We also met some new furry friends - Karen was especially taken with her new mate Monkey. He was very cute – and hopefully we kept him paint free.... which is more than can be said for us!! We didn’t!! I think most of us had some either on our faces, in our hair, on our hands or on our clothes!!!

Maurice provided musical accompaniment tonight (on his phone, not personally) and I heard a few renditions from keen singers…. Nigel;-)

And thank you so much to Maurice for tonight's pun - saved me a good couple of hours of brain wracking!!!

Between the 8 of us, we managed to give the room a complete first coat of paint and it was looking much better. We will be back next week for part 2!

Well done team on another amazing task!! You’re all amazing!
