Report written by Esther
The evening started with biblical weather, appropriate for a church setting!
Sitting in the car in the car park watching hail stones hit the car and make patterns on the windscreen, it was tempting to stay inside! But there was no room for weather watch, extra coats and gloves on and time to check out what needed doing!
Our first return to St John's Church and there was a long list of gardening to support the church volunteers with. Taking a walk around, we decided to focus on clearing leaves from the beds and some weeds on the paths.
The weather had moved on leaving us a little damp and cold but we kept moving with brushes, brooms, bags of leaves, bending and leaning!
Elizabeth was quick to find the laurels to rest on before being given a rake to get going! Sian who looks more athletic each time we see her, buzzed around clearing leaves. Shelley bustled around with bags to fill, whilst Robert found more leaves to put in everytime it looked complete! Hannah helped Esther clear out the weeds from the side path which proved tricky customer's to remove!
45 mins, many bags full and a compost bin - It was time for Robert to get home as he was cold through. Esther, Hannahand Sian headed up the infamous Corfe Hill, Higher Blandford Rd. A great hill for short sprints and to get those lungs firing. Its an uphill of 2 miles or so before a flat mile and then a mile down again through Corfe Mullen.
Well done everyone!
