Wow, how Good Gym people like to run! On Saturday we had a 4 mile run to prepare for the Bristol 10k, coming up at the weekend. It was a chance to get some miles on the legs, ask Pru our resident Personal Trainer any questions about the event, and also do a little bit of muscular toning as well.
After a quick 3 mile run around the docks and down the Chocolate Path (sadly not made of chocolate) we headed into lush and leafy Queens Square. There, we paused and talked about how to increase our race pace by using interval training. One thing about Queen Square which makes it an ideal training area is that 3 laps of the square equal 1 mile, so we did some laps which included sprinting. To finish up, we did some exercises to strengthen our legs – walking lunges and pair squats, and planks to strengthen our cores. A good stretch lying on the grass in the sun made a fantastic finish to the run.
Well done everyone!
