This morning we donned our waders and ventured onto the muddy banks of the pond at Dacres Wood Nature Reserve in Forest Hill. Ready to tackle the task of the overgrown reeds!

Four brave runners once all kitted up waded into the green pond and in around 2 hours we had removed lots of long reeds along one side of the pond’s banks.

The water didn't exactly smell like roses, but that didn't deter our dedicated GG team from getting stuck in and giving their best frog impression.

As a reward for our efforts, we were treated to a cup of tea and a homemade biscuit at the end of the cleanup effort. A very productive morning at Dacres Wood Nature Reserve! we look forward to returning and seeing how the pond and its little creatures progress 🐸!
