Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Manjit Birk
So this was visit number 3 to the Artful Hub in Slough town centre, helping them to get their unit ready for the big launch. Great to have some familiar faces back with us and of course the regular team.
Our meet up point was at Sainsbury's again, which just seems to work nicely. With task brief and warm up completed we headed out the relatively short distance to the Queensmere.
On arrival Eva, gave us the instructions on what needed doing. We had a kitchen to paint as well as another coat on the walls in the unit downstairs. With all the prep work already done for us - we had no excuse to skirt around but get the job done.
So we split into two teams:-
In the kitchen upstairs were Lauren and I. We chatted away about Galic Football (a cross between football and Rugby) whilst doing coat number 1...which we realised afterwards that we had the matt paint but needed the thicker masonary paint! However we still did great job blending it like Beckham.
The downstairs crew of Jean, Savi and Simmi sounded like they were having too much fun with their tunes out and Savi on record breaking mission to get a thick coat on all the fainter areas. Jean was loving this task - with more paint on her than the walls!
With a slighter longer than usual task time (we are perfectionists!), we demolished the yummy panettone bread offered by Salvo (he really does have the best Italian treats) and headed back to base.
Next week, I am away however Super Sut will lead the task (same one as tonight)...I know absense makes the art grow stronger so don't worry I will be back the week after
