Not here for the work, here for the workout
5 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Hackney.

It was a bubbling band of six, brimming with enthusiasm to just get outside for tonight’s community mission: three new planting beds for the latest Wilton Estate project, St Matthew’s Church garden.
Suze was the only runner of the group, as David, Alex, Elena and Chi all arrived brandishing the obligatory lockdown bicycle. It was 5 minutes before Suze, Alex and Elena eventually found the entrance (clearly a little rusty!) and the gang could set to work.
David started on the path weeding, whist the three ladies set to work shovelling soil from bag to barrow, a GoodGym favourite.
After filling the wheelbarrow, it was a teetering effort to drag it around the garden up to the newly created planting beds. With one barrow and two buckets, the team went back and forth until every bed was full. Chi’s contribution as ever was to demonstrate his squatting prowess, perfect lifting technique, and of course capture everything on camera.
With that, there was more weeding, some stone shifting and plank piling, and then it was all over.
Three beds ready for planting and a fairly well-weeded pathway. Job done.
Another epic effort from the gang. We’re all looking forward to times when there can be more than six!
