Today, Paulin and Joe went to the Edward Alleyn Club to help GROAD (Get Rid Of And Donate), a local organisation that takes unused items and then redistributes them in the community. In this case, we were handling donated toys and books, and organising them into different bundles to be received by families via local schools.
We joined Catherine, a regularly GROAD volunteer. And Andrea, our contact at GROAD met us at the beginning to make sure we knew what we were doing. We got started quickly, with Paulin and Catherine making up the bundles, whilst Joe laid out all the books so that we could pick them more easily. This was Joe's first Goodgym mission and he did a stellar job, well done Joe!
There were so many books and so many bundles to make that the time passed very quickly. At the end, we helped Andrea load all the bundles and the rest of the donations back into her van. Joe ran home. Job done!
