Report written by Paul Bown
27 GGers helped Cecil Sharp House with some festive cheer!
Thank you all so much for coming last night for the last GoodGym Camden of the year. It’s been a pleasure leading you guys for nearly 2 years, best thing to do on a Wednesday!
In the news this week:
1.Thank you to Rosie for organising a brilliant, fantastic and fabulous Christmas Party last night! 2.Well done to John Shirley for organising the Regents Park 10km for GGers on Sunday and of course amazing work to the runners in the snow. 3. Fantastic work and thank you to Tom Benson and the Lambeth and Wandsworth gang for organising the GG Members Christmas party on Friday! 4. Our first run of the year is on 3rd January and our January Starter Session is on Saturday 6th January - see you there!
Onto to last night; dressed in festive wear ranging from hats to ties we headed our standard route to Cecil Sharp House via the back streets of Camden. For 18 months we’ve been helping this fantastic organisation once a month, looking after their gardens and pathways which in turn helps them keep funded.
We split into two teams, one at the front of the building and other around the back garden, we were set to work on LEAF SEARCH - using the appropriate coloured bag we spread out.
Give me the pizza
Chatting 2018 races, training runs and pizza (obvs) we used various tools - grabbers, brushes, rakes and even our own hands to collect up those leaves! The annoying thing is that due to the crazy wet weather all the leaves were quite wet, making the task harder and heavier.
After some celebratory apple cake from Susannah and a group picture we headed to Primrose Hill for 12 days of Christmas (Exercises):
As you may have noticed I tried to avoid exercises that are ground based so not to muddy our dinner wear..
Once we’d ran the 2.5km back, stretched out and ate more cake we were led by the wonderful Rosie for our Pizza Express meal - amazing!
