Report written by Conroy
Tonight 13 egg-cited runners met at Solutions Health and Fitness club feeling egg-static about the task we had lined up.
Earlier in the day I sent an email out to all sign ups asking them what building in Croydon was know as the wedding cake? Congratulations to our 3 runners who guessed the correct answer.
As I have ran out of post cards the answer is below.
No. 1 Croydon (formerly the NLA Tower, and colloquially the 50p Building, the Wedding cake or the Threepenny bit building) is a tall building at 12–16 Addiscombe Road, Croydon, London, next to East Croydon station.
Tonight we were heading to ECCO to help tidy up the raised beds along Addiscombe Road, on arriving at Jerry's he had already hatched a plan he wanted us to start working on the raised beds between Chisholm Road and Bisenden Road. We were also joined by two of the local residents, while eggs-plaining what he wanted us to do a third resident who was out walking her dog approached us to enquire if we could get one of the residents along the street to turn their CCTV onto the bulevard as she was quite eggs-asperated that someone had been filling up the street bin with household waste and she wanted to catch the culprit. Jerry politely informed her that was not within our remit and what we were there to do.
Instructions received we the group headed off to different sections of the raised beds in pairs and began working, one shell shocked passer by was egg-ceptionally impressed that we were all there weeding and tidying up the flower beds for free, he stood there for a while watching us, because he had never seen anything like that before.
The group made an egg-ceptional difference to the raised beds, the residents will sure be egg-static as we have managed to clear and filled a lot of bags. At the end of the task we all gathered for a group photo before eggs-changing goodbyes and head back to the car park at southern house for our fitness session with some eggs-plosive moves.
Next week we will be visiting Tunstall Nursery sign up here, you sure don't want to miss this one!
