Report written by Ellen
Darren and I along with Peter accompanied by Ella as cheer squad, headed over early to Wales' second city - Swansea town early today. The Graffinator (Martin Graff) was getting to Swansea under his own steam, and because race time was fast approaching, we didn't get the chance to meet up for our usual pre-race photo. But we did get a shot of Darren and Ellen waiting in the queues for the loos - what glamorous lives we lead! Then we lined up, waited a bit, then a bit longer, then set off. It wasn't as hot as last year but it certainly was muggy! The bottles of water every 5k were definitely welcome. As was the breeze off the sea - ita most of the race follows the seafront, it really is probably the prettiest half marathon around! There was music, and drummers to keep us going, and loads of cheerers all along the route - a great atmosphere. We also ran into a friendly face, in Matt from Big Moose (Well, Pete ran into lots of friends, but that's Pete for you!). We all finished if not in record time, then at least in good time. A great chance for some of us to test ourselves in our first half marathon this year. Here's to next year!
