Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
For the last GoodGym Bristol run of the year we had a last minute change of plan. We weren’t able to go to the Christmas shelter as planned, so we ran to Totterdown to help out with some last minute guerrilla gardening.
Fully lit up with head torches and an amazing array of coloured running tops, we headed out in the dark night. We ran through the centre, past St Mary Redcliffe Church, over the banana bridge and then up a couple of the steepest streets in Bristol (or the UK) to the site for this week’s task.
The group had had a large amount of topsoil delivered and our task was to load it into bags and buckets and then carry it up the hill. This was a really physical task, definitely keeping us warm on a winter’s night. We worked really well as a team, shifting loads of soil be fore it was time to head for home.
On the way back down the hill into the town centre we stretched our legs and set a good pace through Victoria Park and over the harbour.
Great work from everyone, particularly Matty who missed 3 Christmas parties to get involved, and Rosie and Jack on their first run.
Next run is in the new year, on the 11th January when we’ll be heading back to Brandon Hill.
