Will "mowing the lawn for Mr H" really mean that, or will there be an unexpected twist - such are the unknown delights of GoodGym gardening missions. This one proved as described on the tin, except that Mr H (and his family) had previously, intentionally or otherwise, decided rewilding was the way to go on his outside grass areas, and so it was a small meadow that needed the decent haircut today.

Armed with a very effective flymo, I got to work on three outer areas at the front and quite quickly had them down to a reasonably consistent no.1 cut. Some shears appeared and these proved useful to trim and tidy up the edges and all the long bits that the machine (or its operator) had clearly missed.

After a quick breather, we then moved the mower into the garden itself and got to work on this patch - fortunately it was a regular shape, and apart from the odd branch and wooden spoon(!), nothing got between the mower and the long grass to upset it too much and before long the whole area was looking much tidier and sit-outable once again.

Mr H (and his daughter) were pleased to be able to tread on their lawn once again, and after a refreshing and much needed glass of water, I left them to enjoy a very sunny Friday evening.
