One small bag, one big impact

Mrs R is self isolating, but mentioned to her neighbour that she was running low on some basic ingredients.
She was referred to me and of course I was delighted to have been able to help!
When I arrived she said to me 'oh I have been so worried about how I am going to find food...' GoodGymers, we HAVE to do all we can to help our most vulnerable.
Her list was not big, but the challenge was more so... brown bread, vegetables, tinned tuna and eggs was what she needed most desperately. 'Can't be too difficult' you think? 4 shops later (Co-op, Tesco Express, greengrocer, M&S) and I was still missing the eggs. This is a desperate situation we find ourselves in. Even if Mrs R had been able to leave the house, she shouldn't have to search around 4 shops for 5 items!
Anyway, I returned (with an extra bunch of daffodils to brighten her day) and left the bag on the doorstep.
A very relieved and grateful person needing the most basic of support. Please continue to spread the word on what panic buying is doing to our elderly and vulnerable. And please, reach out to anyone you feel could use our help right now.
Be safe and well everyone x
