Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Gosia Rybacka
Ian, Jaya and Gosia met up in Southwark today to help out Ms A in doing a small rearrangement in her house. It was a sunny ☀️ spring 🌻 weather, indeed a perfect afternoon to run and spread a bit of GG magic 💖.
We have been warned before the mission that the task is not easy and previous group hasn't managed to complete it. We went with it fully motivated of course but at the same time bit uncertain about the outcome 🤔🤭.
The task was to swap a chest of drawers from the bedroom with a one located upstairs. Sounds easy right 😊?
We started off with moving down the one from upstairs. Ian covered one side, Gosia and Jaya the other. Step by step 🕺 (literally) we moved the furniture downstairs with a little hesitation and strategic planning when taking right down the stairs. In the end it went out much more smooth than we thought. We "parked" it near the bathroom.
The second part of the task was to move the chest of drawers from the bedroom one floor up. This one was a a little bit more interesting as it was wider, broader and heavier 😮. Ian then had a genius idea to temporarily remove a handle placed half way of the stairs. This gave us more space for the manoeuvres 🐾. We have eventually made it but needed to turn the furniture on the side to go through the most narrow part of the journey.
Jaya and Gosia then took time to give final touches to the bedroom. This included a little brainstorm session on how to move up a TV shelf and fit in a new chest of drawers (which easy a bit higher). In the meantime, Ian attached the handle back where it belongs and hanging two pictures 🏞🏞 back on the wall. Like nothing has just happened 🤫.
Ms A was very thankful for the help, before we headed off -- she told us few stories and offered us a glass of water. Great effort team! 🤗🤗👍
