Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nick Moore
Today's furniture moving mission for Mrs I at first glance seemed reasonably straightforward for Sian and I as it involved taking outside (for collection) various walking frames, a commode, some other smaller items, and a hospital bed.
Everything went smoothly until we got to the hospital bed, which we soon discovered was not designed to be taken apart - unless you had all the right tools to hand (we didn't...an amateur error).
Sian managed to obtain a set of Allen keys from a neighbour, but as is always the way, these were missing the size we needed. After a bit of staring pensively at the various pins seemingly holding it all together, we worked out if we removed some, and pushed hard enough on the frame, the end pieces would eventually come apart, albeit the whole bed still remained connected together with various electric cables that we couldn't fathom out how to unplug. This solution at least allowed us to "flat pack" the heavy bed sufficiently for us to lift/drag it through the doors and leave it outside Mrs I's flat for a bulk waste collection.
A few grazed fingers later our task was complete, and Mrs I was grateful for both our intellectual and physical efforts...

Thanks Nick for being the brains and brawn of the operation - was grateful to have a more seasoned GoodGymer with me!
