Only the Lonely
1 GoodGymer made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Bromley.

Another quiet night in Bromley Land.
Since spreading the word seems of utmost importance I took a trip towards Beckenham this evening to distribute some leaflets. It certainly seems a bit busier over that way than in Bromley Central so fingers crossed we'll appeal to a few.
En route I popped into Downham Community Centre, where we've been helping to tidy up the fire escape for the last few weeks, and asked if they'd put a few flyers on display and leave a stack by the reception desk for potential GoodGymmers to pick up. They willingly obliged and after a quick chat with Shane and a look in on the Tae Kwon Doe class I headed off to Beckenham Junction to start distributing.
Not sure what else to say really. How about a poem. I definitely wrote this:
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
Go on, come and join me next week. Shane at Downham Community Centre is keen to have us along. Go on, go on, go on.
