This evening I teamed up with fellow royal fe-mail Victoria for an post-office mission in Lambeth. I was particularly happy to be doing a GoodGym task today as it's my one year GoodGym anniversary (yay! 🎉), and it was lovely to be able to celebrate it with one of my favourite GoodGymmers 🥰

Our mission this evening was for Mrs G. Mrs G will soon be moving into a retirement home, and is currently packing up her house contents. She asked GoodGym if someone could come over to wrap and pack two dinner services for collection by another charity.

After being given a warm welcome by Mrs G (including an offer of strawberry juice to keep our energy up 👍), she pointed us in the direction of the dinnerware to be packed.

There was a lot of it, and in a Dutch style that was reflected in various pieces around Mrs G's house (see photos). Thankfully, Mrs G had lots of bubble wrap to wrap it up with. Mrs G also helped the time pass quickly by keeping us entertained with stories about her time in London and in the Netherlands. She was excited to hear that I'd visited my half brother in Rotterdam several years ago, but was disappointed that I hadn't seen any organ grinders (or their monkeys) on my trip. I'm going to make it a point of interest to find one on my next visit!

After an hour and a half, Victoria and I had run out of both boxes and bubblewrap, and so made our goodbyes to Mrs G before heading to a nearby park to enjoy the rest of the evening. Hopefully Mrs G's move will go smoothly and she'll settle into her new home quickly! 😄🍀
